Celebrating the past and sustaining the future in Knoxville

The 100th American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) Annual Conference, themed “Celebrating the Past, Sustaining the Future,” is set to take place June 25-28 at the Knoxville Convention Center (KCC).

More than 1,000 professionals and students in family and consumer sciences (FCS) and allied fields from across the U.S. will convene at the KCC and Hilton Knoxville for the AAFCS Centennial conference. Experts in personal finance, health and nutrition, resource management, apparel and textiles, housing and other areas of FCS will present strategies to help individuals, families, and communities sustain and improve their quality of life without having a negative impact on the environment.

The meeting will feature well-known sustainability experts and a range of educational sessions on theme-related topics, from “going green” in the classroom to addressing fashion counterfeit.

Attendees will also participate in special AAFCS Centennial activities and will honor outstanding members, students, and FCS organizations.
